To whom it may concern,
I am writing on behalf of Citizens Advice Enfield (CAE) regarding our work with the EU Settlement Scheme, and how your school can get involved.
Important information regarding the EU Settlement Scheme
As the UK prepares to leave the EU, many people in the community will have questions about how they could be affected. CAE hopes to offer reassurance and clarity about what needs to be done in order to secure the rights of individuals via the government’s EU Settlement Scheme.
This scheme applies to EU, EEA and Swiss citizens currently living in the UK. Completing the application is crucial for those affected and their family to continue to live, work and study in the UK following the 31st December 2020. This will also include entitlement to:
- Public services, such as healthcare and schools.
- Public funds and pensions.
- British citizenship if you meet the requirements.
The Settlement Scheme application is completed via the GOV.UK website. This involves a short and simple online application form to prove your identity, show that you live in the UK, and declare any criminal convictions. You will need a valid passport or national identity card.
Citizen Advice Enfield: Free Advice Webinar
Citizens Advice Enfield wants to ensure that all those that could be affected are made aware of the EU Settlement Scheme, and to help with the application. In order to do this, we are offering free advice sessions on Tuesday 13th October and Tuesday 27th October at 2pm-3pm. The session can be joined by registering with Eventbrite.
We are asking for your support by helping publicise the webinar. I have attached a flyer advertising the webinar. It would be extremely helpful if you were able to share the flyer via your weekly newsletter or via the school website. The information may be relevant to the families of your pupils, and parents may not know where to seek assistance with their applications.
Your support would be greatly appreciated.
