St John’sChurch, Dysons Road is the Anglican Church which serves the local community in Upper Edmonton. It is adjacent to the Meridian Water regeneration site and is well placed to become a focal point for both the existing and the new communities. The Diocese of London and specifically the area bishop, The Rt. Revd.
Peter Wheatley, have committed resources to the Meridian Water project by re-opening St John’sChurch to become this community focal point.
St John’s priest, Rev’d. Nigel Asbridge, chairs Enfield Council’s Enfield Leaside Partnership Cohesion Working Group. His previous ministry has included working with The Children’s Society creating partnerships between the charity sector and local authorities as statutory providers of children’s services. He has served on the National Society Strategic Review Group, and has spent 24 years in Inner London parishes. He led the re-opening of St John’s Church with the specific purpose of playing a part in the regeneration project.
